yes it is heavy gauge steel but so is every other trailer hitch and really 35lbs is nothing. This hitch is a fantastic alternative to the $400 plus oe hitch from Subaru plus, since it's a class three it has a 2" receiver which accepts the sturdier bike rack, cargo carriers etc. Install is not hard but does require a few tools. the quality is there and I would absolutely buy this product again. This hitch also fits the 2012 forester as well, as thats what I put it on 2012 forester 2.5x premium.

50 yers ago, tailer hitches were made of heavy, common steel and painted with black paint that peeled off and rusted. Often you had to drill holes in your vehicle to mount them and then cut into your vehicle's wiring for trailer lights. Guess what? While vehicles have become lighter, safer and more efficient, these trailer hitches are still boat anchors. This Curt trailer hitch looks like it was made in a 18th century blacksmith shop. The steel brackets are 5/16th inch thick. It weighs a full 35 lbs without the hitch ball. Some of the paint didn't survive the shipping. The FedEx driver refused to deliver it to my door (too heavy?), and left it sitting in the bushes by my driveway. Why can't trailer hitches be made of the high strength steel now used in any modern automotive chassis?

I bought a Noah cover eleven years ago for my new (then) '99 corvette. I didn't read care instructions, and washed it a few times and tossed it in a dryer (yes, it shrank a little each time). The front corners wore through a few years back (probably from tight fit after shrinking) and I continued to use it. It has served me well when the car was parked in sunny L.A., outside under a canopy (from rain) and in the garage. It served its purpose well, which is why I'm FINALLY purchasing another one as it has proved to be a good investment for protection. The grommets are nice for running a cable lock and the elastic bottom makes for snug fit. The wind will not blow the cover off (well, maybe in a hurricane).

Cover is extremely nice, and the fitment is 100% perfect... only reason it did not get 5 start is the kit included the cover only, no cable and lock :( Otherwise very impressed!

receive the car cover a few days ago. After wash the car I can't wait to put it on. It fit very nice even with the back mirrors on both sides. The roof antenna even has its own pouch.
At the lower center of the cover, it has ring at both side so that you can use rope to tight it down.
Make sure you select the right model. Be aware, even though you have your 'garage' configured and your 'parts' (i.e. the cover) is not comparable, Amazon web site still let you order it.
Granted there may be some warning message, but when you get too excited it could be over looked.
It is about double the price of the non-custom fit. Overall for the car you want to maintain in a good condition, I think it is a good buy.

To be honest, the only reason I ordered *this* cart because it's shipped free from Amazon. Other suppliers wanted $30+ shipping for welding carts.
You get what you pay for with this cart. Although the materials and general construction are acceptable, the hardware that's shipped with this unit is complete trash. The unit came with only one safety chain. If you want to chain the cylinder to both upper and lower brackets you're on your own. The bolts that come with it are not made out of steel. They can't be. I've seen plastics that are harder and more durable. I was using a 1/4 ratchet for assembly and I stripped the threads off of one of the bolts.
In the end, you'd be hard pressed to source just the materials for the price of the cart. My plan is to weld the cart together replacing the hokey bolts and add a couple of hooks for cable management (the cart doesn't come with any).

I got this in a Miller welder package deal. What a cheesy piece of junk. It's actually lower quality than I'd expect from Harbor Freight. The nuts and bolts are incredibly cheesy. Stamped and spot welded sheet metal junk. Miller should be ashamed to put their name on this thing. If it were $40, I might be okay with it. $125 is a joke.

After reading other buyers reviews, I was very mixed about purchasing this cart. After receiving the cart, I was pleased I did... Maybe I got a newer/ improved version based on feedback from others? The gauge thickness with heavier than I expected - more then sufficient. I didn't use the instructions to assemble the unit, for the most part they're much like Ikea's a couple of pictures and some dotted lines... If you're mechanically inclined you can sort it out...
