Clarion's FZ501 is a mechless digital media receiver receiver packed full of connectivity options, with a unique single multi-way controller, direct iPod/iPhone control, front USB and AUX with sliding cover, and built-in Bluetooth for hands-free operation and audio streaming. It also offers room to grow, with two pairs of 2V preamp outputs on top of its 50W x 4 MOSFET amplifier, and the ability to add HD or SIRIUS satellite radio.
Built-in Bluetooth Hands-free and Audio Streaming
FZ501's built-in wireless Bluetooth interface supports HSP/HFP for hands-free operation and PBAP for phonebook download. You can easily communicate with the outside world by listening to phone calls through the car's audio system and talking through the embedded microphone. And with A2DP/AVRCP support, you can enjoy music streamed from your mobile phone.
7-way Rotary Volume Control and 20 Key Remote
The large volume control knob operates much like an iPod wheel. Combined with the ergonomically symmetrical design of the unit, it provides comfortable and intuitive access to a variety of functions even while driving--just push, tilt and turn. Fine details can be set with ease using the provided 20 key remote control.
Playback MP3/WMA Files From USB
The FZ501 features a front-panel USB input, so you can copy a bunch of your favorite tunes/podcasts/etc. to a USB thumb drive, for direct playback through the receiver.
Superior iPod and iPhone Connectivity
Enjoy the familiar operational feel of your iPod and iPhone, with album/artist/song/playlist on-screen display and more. The simple control mode enables system operation using just the iPod/iPhone controls, including ABC search. For audio playback, just use a standard 30-pin to USB cable, like that provided with your iPod / iPhone. As an added bonus, iTunes Tagging via the HD Radio makes it easy to purchase the songs you like.

In addition to providing three preset equalization patterns--bass boost, impact, and excite--Clarion's Beat EQ allows you freedom to customize the level and range of the bass, midrange and treble portions of each pattern. Easily adjust the sound to your liking, depending on the genre of music and your preferences.
50W x 4 MOS-FET Power
FZ501 has a MOS-FET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor) power amplifier capable of delivering 50W x 4 of high quality sound with superior linearity and less distortion than conventional power amps even with the volume cranked up.
Two 2V Preamp Outputs
If you still need a little more power, the FZ501 provides two stereo pairs (four channels) of two-volt RCA outputs (front + rear/subwoofer) for expanding your system, complete with high- and low-pass filters and a separate subwoofer volume.
HD Radio and SIRIUS Direct Connect Ready
CZ301 is ready for connection to HD Radio tuner (THD301) for crystal clear digital quality radio, with iTunes Tagging for easy purchase of songs heard over the radio. Or connect the optional SIRIUS Direct Connect for genre-specific programming from music and talk, to news and traffic, from coast to coast.

For the $130 I paid, it's a crazy good value. You just don't find good receivers at this price that include iPod and Bluetooth capability. I'm surprised so many receivers still include CD players. Who still uses those?? :) Just keep in mind there are some compromises that go along with the low price. Pros: -If you like simple, minimal design (and I very much do), this is a great looking unit. The single silver nob with a light blue glow behind it should blend nicely into most cars. Blue is all you get, however. You can't change colors. That minimalist approach also means you have to spend some time learning all the ways to push (up, down, left, right), twist, and click that big button to get things done. Once you get your head around it, it's fine. But if you want separate buttons and nobs for features, this isn't the amp for you. It's a bit like learning the iPod... Cons: There is no folder option, so everything on your USB is just stacked and plays from begining to end. The display continously reads out all the features,as if you need to be reminded again and again. It would be a bonus if the remote could light up when driving at night. Other than that I am happy with the unit I just wanted to get rid of the clutter of discs I had piled up in my car, and this receiver did just that, good-bye to all that crappy clutter of CD's no more sticky songs just continous scratch free music, what a pleasure. A big plus- no more purchasing stacks of blank discs.
